Footloose e plin de umor, de numere de dans si are o coloanã sonorã electrizantã. El descrie lupta vesnicã dintre plãcerea nevinovatã si moralitatea rigidã, când bãiatul de oras Ren McCormick (Kevin Bacon) ajunge într-un oras de modã veche, unde dansul si bucuria tinereascã a fost interzisã. Ren se revoltã, alãturi de cel mai bun prieten Willard (Chris Penn) si de fiica preotului (Lori Singer). Filmul cuprinde o comoarã alcãtuitã din melodii de Top10 -- Kenny Loggins "Footloose", Shalamar "Dancing in the Sheets", Deniece Williams "Let's Hear it for the Boy", Bonnie Tyler "Holding out for a hero" si tema filmului, "Almost Paradise".
